Visualware Unveils Solution for Simplified Management of True End-to-End Internet Application Performance

Desktop Management Suite Identifies Connectivity Problems at the Server, Internet Cloud and End-User Desktop

TURLOCK, CALIF.  November 3, 2003 – Visualware Inc. today introduced its Desktop Management Suite, a solution set enabling enterprises to gain control of their Internet application service delivery and maximize application availability to their customers and end-users. The suite is designed for any business providing critical business processes via Internet applications and, in particular, for enterprises in need of managing global service delivery and multiple help-desk centers.

The Desktop Management Suite consists of four distinct applications that individually address a particular area of the service delivery path. Working together, they provide a complete view of service delivery from the application server to the desktop client:

·         DesktopResponse™ continuously monitors true customer service levels by measuring the exact elapsed time taken for any Web page to be received by every customer anywhere in the world. Whenever poor service delivery occurs, then

·         DesktopPerspective™ enables help-desk staff to examine in detail the path taken across the Internet/Intranet originating from the customer desktop, identifying availability and quality issues that occur between the customer location and the application server. If the problem is not occurring from the server to the customer desktop, then

·         DesktopAnalyzer™ allows help-desk staff to quickly validate the customer desktop configuration, security and connectivity settings to isolate problems due to the customer environment.

·         DesktopProfile™ provides continuous measurement and reporting of services from an application server to the customer location, including when the customer is not utilizing the service. This provides essential 24x7 availability and performance monitoring for proactive problem resolution and historical reporting of service levels over time.

Together, the four desktop products comprise an end-to-end performance management solution through automated monitoring of actual service delivery to customers and the diagnostic tools to proactively identify and resolve a problem—regardless of whether the bottleneck is occurring at the customer desktop, an intermediary Internet service provider (ISP) or at the application server itself.

“Historically it has been quite difficult for enterprises to know what happens to their application service beyond the application server itself,” said Hank Harris, Visualware’s president and CEO. “The Desktop Management Suite introduces breakthrough technology that gives business managers a true picture of their global service delivery and the help-desk tools to quickly isolate customer connectivity problems, regardless of where in the world they occur. In today’s environment of intense competition for reaching customers via Internet services, the value of   seeing beyond the application server to gain visibility of the complete service delivery chain cannot be overestimated.”

Visualware’s Desktop Management Suite starts at $28,450.
